Keeping it simple.
I have a hard time with this.
And I always have.
This may sound surprising as I often preach, “Keep it simple.”
But I say this because I need to hear it more than anyone.
I enjoy being creative.
But this bites me in the butt quite often.
The reason is because I like to try out complicated ideas.
Sometimes they land, but many times they don’t.
While I attended University, the lowest grade I ever received on a research paper came as a result of trying to be WAY too creative.
This was during the last research paper of my final semester.
I was an English major and the entire class was centered around the book, “Paradise Lost.” A classic.
Long story short, I tried explaining connections between Paradise Lost and the Bible.
It was hard. It was very time-consuming. And I didn’t do very well.
That experience taught me that sometimes it’s just better to try and execute a simple idea very well.
But what does this have to do with Data Analytics?
